Umberto, Lola, Cindy, and Iona traveled with Amy to Knoxville, TN to compete in the Mountain Cluster AKC cluster. First stop was the Great Smoky Mountains and they each got to experience a mountain stream and a stop for some vista views over Gatlinburg . . . Lola won Best in Show at her very first show -- first time in the ring! -- 4-6 month puppy, beating out all sorts of amazing dogs of all sorts of breeds including dalmations, newfies, golden retrievers, hunting dogs and more. Lola's sister Cindy won Best of Breed and the Toy Group the next day, then Lola scored Best of Breed and the Toy Group the 3rd day. They just took turns winning. Lola . . . Cindy . . . They both had a few moments of silly puppy antics as well which proved they were having a blast! Couldn't resist putting the outtakes into some "BPUP Ballets"! Umberto won Winners Dog and Best of Winners 2 of the days as well, collecting some more points toward his AKC championship! They had some fun training at the hotel, too, and especially enjoyed zoomies and snuggles . . . . By Sunday, Lola was definitely spent and ready for her afternoon nap! One of the best parts of the trip was getting to visit with my vet and vet tech who were also attending the show (she has a Crested). They also completed a fastcat title! We enjoyed dinner and some fun visiting which we don't always get to do at our office visits because they stay so busy. We are so blessed to have such amazing vets at Galleria Animal Clinic who not only know how to care for brachy breeds (we never worry about anesthesia complications because they know what they're doing) but also are nice people who genuinely love animals.
