When we made the tough (TOUGH) decision not to keep Westley (Gus) because we simply didn't have any girls to use him on right now, we knew this day was coming. We also knew that we had found the MOST AMAZING family for Gus to live with in South Carolina. However, it's never easy because we truly bond with our puppies and love them with our whole heart. When his new mama arrived, Gus immediately ran straight to her, without any reservations, and was overcome with joy and excitement! 

After that moment, seeing Gus "light up" it was easier . . . much easier . . . . to say the final farewells. His new mama has devoted years of her life with rescue and foster, especially with senior pugs. She, too, had given her heart to so many blessed creatures who needed to live out their final years and months of their lives with love and caring. She said it broke her heart, though, and she just couldn't foster another senior. She DESERVED a puppy as special as Gus so we knew from that moment he was destined to become a part of her family. Her husband and Gus' new human dad had spent many years helping so many as a firefighter. Another true animal lover ... and another reason we knew Gus had found his perfect home.

Alas, we will miss seeing your sweet face each morning waiting for your goat milk and your morning playtime! ​

We will miss your adorable smile and sweet, funny spirit. But we know you have been blessed to be a blessing. You truly are an exceptional pug, creature, living being, loving, gentle, and intuitive soul ... full of personality, brilliance, and God's blessings. We will always love you and thank you for blessing us for your first few months of life. Now go bless your new humans and spread that Gus the Great around this world!

Westley (Gus) got to enjoy 2 weeks of Puppy Kindergarten classes at Roverchase along with his half sister, Doris (Lady G). We love the trainers here because they are all about positive reinforcement and they have such skills. Jimmie was his teacher and she graduated from the Victoria Stillwell academy. She also taught us some amazing exercises and games to reinforce his new name even more successfully. Photos from class coming soon . . .

Gus aced all of his skills for his "graduation". He was perhaps at 60-70% for "shake" but giving paw was coming along for him but EXCEPTIONAL at loose leash walking (even had automatic sits down pretty well!), drop, pushups, (sit, down, stand), sit with hand signal only, attention (watch me), paws up, spin, twist, bow, play piano, get on, get in, get out, wait, and so much more. Honestly, we should have gone ahead and gotten a tricks title for him before he left if there had been time and $. We will miss this little guy so much. He is exceptional inside and out. ;)
