Having just turned 4 months of age, Eliza (Pickwick's Too Generous to Trifle With) won Best of Opposite Sex in a huge line-up of pugs in the 4-6 Beginner Puppy in Virginia Beach, VA October, 2023. The week before (en route up to Virginia) we stopped in Knoxville, TN and she won not only the Breed but also the Toy Group! Here is Eliza at her very first show (in Knoxville) . . . . Later in the week, Eliza's sister Emma, (Pickwick's Judge of Your Own Happiness) was incredible at the Nationals with her very first time in a show ring and with a table examination. I was so proud of her! Competition was fierce, of course. Here is Emma being amazing . . . . And here is Eliza enjoying the sights at the Pug Dog Club of America National Specialty . . . .
Theo, our singleton from the Bridgerton litter, has a new name! His owners will be calling him Doyle! We love the hard consonant in training and it truly fits this little fella who has so much personality and is SO smart. Amy was attending the Pug National Conference for over a week (and the Knoxville show before that) so she had not seen him for a week and 1/2 until yesterday. He just gets more beautiful every day!
He didn't much like trying to run around in the sweater but it was a bit chilly outside early this morning! (For Alabama folks at least ha!!) https://www.facebook.com/544684001/videos/154127874442164/ Emma, Georgiana, Mr Darcy, Penelope, and Eliza had a blast on their first long car trip and hotel stay! They got to meet some amazing other breeders who evaluated them (for conformation etc. -- temperament evaluations were a couple of weeks ago) and they played and played and played in the hotel! We got home at 1:15 AM (which felt like 2:15 AM Greenville, SC time) so I think they were happy to get back to their playpen in the den and familiar settings. Mom was ;) The Jane Austen litter puppies got a fabulous bill of health from our vet today. Clear fecal, hearts, lungs, nares, patella/hips, everything super healthy! They had a blast at their puppy party last weekend and everyone loved meeting them. Thanks to everyone who came to the party to help us socialize!
Lilly had 5 pups! 4 girls and 1 boy for her final litter. They are all healthy, thriving, and absolutely gorgeous. Click here for the daily blog to follow along with lives of these pups for their first weeks of life while living at Pickwick Pugs. We hope to have some show prospects as this is a very important litter for us and, hopefully, the pug breed. D.O.B. 5/27/23 The Southern Belle Litter pups got to take a trip to Atlanta and stay at their first hotel! They also enjoyed getting to meet the President of The Pug Dog Club of America, Gary Williams. Thank you so much for your help in evaluating this beautiful litter .... and thank you, also, for breeding their beautiful grandfather, GCH Mianda's Prince Charming at Vanity. Technically, this post should be in the other Blog as Tory has not visited the Nursery in many months ... but it might be fun to see what a Pickwick puppy grows out to be! Here is Tory at 4 months of age bomb proof at a big arena filled with all sorts of people, dogs, things, and smells that were entirely new to her. Tory rocked her 1st Beginner Puppy (4-6 month puppy class) in Montgomery, Alabama, winning Best of Breed (yes, she had competition) AND the Toy Group (there were some really nice pups including gorgeous Pekingese, poodles etc.). Go Tory! Best of all, she had super fun and loved the show environment and being the center of attention. The Poldark Litter enjoyed meeting everyone at their 6 week puppy party. They were all so confident and social .... such a consistent litter! Many thanks to everyone who attended to help us socialize these little treasures (one family even flying down from Wisconsin) as you helped shape their lives for years to come. |
