If you are interested in owning a Pickwick Pug this is the basic procedure:
- Complete the application/inquiry form online
- If it seems you would be a good match for an available or future pug, we then meet via Zoom so that prospective puppy owners can share more about what they are looking for in a puppy/pug.
- If approved to be a future owner, a deposit of $750 is required to secure a place on our waiting list. The deposit is non-refundable but will go toward the final purchase price of your Pickwick pug.
- When an appropriate pug becomes available, we contact the prospective owners who have made a deposit first (in order of receipt).
- Based upon the results from temperament evaluations and continued conversations, Pickwick Pugs chooses the puppy for the buyer. When matching a prospective owner with a puppy who will be the best fit, there are many factors involved. For example, a puppy who will be living in a large city negotiating loud public transit, or living with a family with young children, will need to have passed the sound sensitivity test with flying colors. There are some puppies who would thrive in a home as an "only child" and others who would thrive as a performance pup, doing agility or rally or other activities. While all Pickwick pugs are bred to be companion dogs, they will each have unique strengths which will complement the unique lifestyles of their future forever homeowner(s).
- During the remaining weeks, the puppy will focus on specific skills during training sessions specifically with its new prospective home environment in mind and daily training sessions will be custom tailored for each owner/puppy.
- A puppy is ready to go to its new home between 12-24 weeks of age, usually at 12 weeks but never before. All new puppy owners are required to pick the puppy up in person. We do not ship. As a Pickwick puppy owner, you become a part of our family and it's important that meet as many of the future family members as possible! This is also a good opportunity to go over training protocols which you will want to continue, meet the puppy's mother (and possibly father if he lives with us), meet the puppy's siblings or cousins, and enjoy a wonderful time bonding during the trip home.
- Payment in full must be completed by date specified in contract which is generally by 10 weeks of the puppy's age. We accept Zelle payments only or cash, or you may pay through GoodDog.com.

We do not breed often but, when we do, we carefully evaluate and select puppies that will contribute to the future of our breeding program and the future of this marvelous breed.
