Pickwick's Judge of Your Own Happiness (Emma)
Emma, out of our Jane Austen Litter was one of our 2 picks along with her sister Eliza who won Best of Opposite Sex in the puppy group at Pug Dog Club of America Nationals. Here is Emma showing at nationals (her very first time in the ring).

Umberto of Alexgoldens
(Umberto traveled all the way from Serbia to join us at Pickwick Pugs. He is such a sweet pug and, honestly, would rather be sitting in a lap that at a dog show, but he is getting more and more confident with each outing and we will continue to show him, especially now that he has matured and his chest and head have come in. We have a few final health screening tests to complete, such as the hip/spine/shoulder x-rays and patella exam but, pending the results, we think Emma and Umberto would make a magnificent match.)

This planned pairing brings together two pugs we deeply admire—each offering qualities we value not only in structure, but in spirit. Emma carries forward so much of what we cherish: a beautiful coat, a steady topline, and the exceptional angles and tailset of her sire, Mianda’s MacDaddy. Just as importantly, she shares his temperament—joyful, affectionate, and endlessly good-natured. There is not a mean bone to be found; she is simply happy, always.

Breathing remains a cornerstone of our program, and both Emma and Umberto are strong, easy breathers. Emma herself is more closely linebred on the Mianda side (with a higher coefficient of inbreeding), which makes this pairing with Umberto a thoughtful and intentional outcross—one that we hope will maintain health and vitality while preserving the qualities we hold dear.

Umberto, who traveled all the way from Serbia to join us at Pickwick pugs, brings his own depth of pedigree, shaped by generations of remarkable dogs. Among them are influential pugs such as Rufus and Perfect Caper, whose legacy continues to echo forward. We include them here as a glimpse into the foundation behind him—and with the hope that a glimmer of their presence may shine through in this mating.

Together, Emma and Umberto represent a careful balance: type and soundness, history and future, structure and heart. It is a pairing rooted in respect for the past, and in hope for what is to come.
