This planned pairing brings together two pugs we deeply admire—each offering qualities we value not only in structure, but in spirit. Emma carries forward so much of what we cherish: a beautiful coat, a steady topline, and the exceptional angles and tailset of her sire, Mianda’s MacDaddy. Just as importantly, she shares his temperament—joyful, affectionate, and endlessly good-natured. There is not a mean bone to be found; she is simply happy, always.
Breathing remains a cornerstone of our program, and both Emma and Umberto are strong, easy breathers. Emma herself is more closely linebred on the Mianda side (with a higher coefficient of inbreeding), which makes this pairing with Umberto a thoughtful and intentional outcross—one that we hope will maintain health and vitality while preserving the qualities we hold dear.
Umberto, who traveled all the way from Serbia to join us at Pickwick pugs, brings his own depth of pedigree, shaped by generations of remarkable dogs. Among them are influential pugs such as Rufus and Perfect Caper, whose legacy continues to echo forward. We include them here as a glimpse into the foundation behind him—and with the hope that a glimmer of their presence may shine through in this mating.

Across centuries, certain Pugs, breeders, kennels, and bloodlines have left an enduring mark on the breed—from treasured companions of royalty to the foundation dogs and pioneering breeders who helped shape the Pug we know today.
The Pug Pantheon Litter pays tribute to those names woven into Pug history. Each puppy bears the name of a celebrated dog, breeder, kennel, or historic strain whose story forms part of the breed's remarkable past.
Some were breeders. Some were bloodlines. Some were Pugs whose names survived long after the people who adored them were gone. Together, they represent chapters in a story stretching across countries, centuries, palaces, drawing rooms—and eventually into our own homes and laps.
As preservation breeders, we believe the future of the Pug begins with understanding and honoring its past, so we look forward to hopefully proudly introducing some very small additions to a very distinguished company. Here are some names we might consider:

2. Famous Late-Victorian & Edwardian Kennels (1880s–1910s)
- Boughey: Named for the historic prefix of Sir Thomas Boughey, who bred some of the earliest champion Pugs to hit the show ring.
- Rosemary: One of the most dominant early show kennels in England, owned by Miss Jaquet, known for producing structurally beautiful dogs.
- Lokai: A prestigious early 1900s UK prefix that helped stabilize breed lines after the initial Victorian craze.
3. Early American Pioneers (Late 1800s–1930s)
- Eberhart: Named after Al G. Eberhart, a foundational American breeder and author who heavily championed the Pug in the United States during the late 1900s.
- Tariff: The kennel name of the very first Pug ever registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC) in 1885.
