Winning Best of Breed in Columbiana, AL:

Beautiful Tory is our pick of the litter from the Coffee House Litter. Her kennel name was Victoria but we changed it to Tory which means "conqueror or victory" and that's what she's doing in the show ring snatching up Best of Breeds out of Bred By Puppy class. All the girls in Tory's litter are gorgeous so it was a tough decision, but Tory won and we are so excited to be adding her to our grumble! She is a niece to "Biggie" who won more best in shows than any pug in history, and the Toy Group at Westminster, and granddaughter of "Reese" who was #3 pug in US and great grandaughter of "Noble", another top US pug.

Tory did well and had so much fun in BPUP AKC (4-6 Puppy Competition) winning multiple "Best of Breeds" at 4 months, and even placing in the Toy groups against some really nice dogs! She earned her Puppy of Achievement title/certificate quickly out of BPUP.

Tory at her first BPUP:

Here is Tory, having just turned 6 months of age, at her first official show cluster (The Cherokee Rose Cluster in Atlanta), February, 2023. She had a blast. Never met a stranger, even the amazing handler, Harry Bennett, who literally met her seconds before entering the ring. What a little ball of fire she is and we'll be having so much fun with her watching her mature.

I am so grateful to Harry Bennett for helping me show her at the Atlanta shows. Originally, the rally obedience which Robert was entered in conflicted with breed. To be honest, while I know a brand new 6 month puppy is beneath him as an assignment, it was so helpful to watch how he gradually got her under control. The smile on his face, to the tiny redirect. He is a true master. I was also thankful to be able to pick his brain from everything to training, breeding, puppy evals, to handling politics. 

This is when she first entered the ring the first time . . . .

Harry wasn't phased. Within milliseconds, he had her working with him. (FYI, I promise she isn't always this naughty, she just thought all of this new scene was totally swell.) But Harry didn't have to break her spirit or jerk the lead to get her to synchronize. He did it with a look, a gentle hand, and his magic pink squeaky toy. Seriously, Harry is a dog whisperer turning, after just a few seconds, the pug in the above photo into this . . . .

In this last photo, Tory is planting a stare at the judge after the down and back. Here are some video excerpts from her first show. She showed on Thursday, twice on Saturday (including the Pug Specialty), and Sunday, and she won her 6-9 puppy class each day.

On June 14, Tory and her mama took a trip to MS for her to go to "summer camp" with Miss Alexis. Alexis will train her for the week while Tory gets to hang with the one and only super fun Wilson (a neutered, wild, and beautiful pet pug), then compete all 4 days in the dog show in Tunica. Her human mama had to return back to B'ham to take care of the Jane Austen litter pups who are just a couple of weeks old, so we are grateful to Alexis for showing Tory for us!  Here is Tory wishing she could have some of Amy's sandwich at a pit stop. (Loves gas stations have dog parks! At least this one did!)

Tory rocked the ring at her first show out with a handler at the Tunica, MS shows. Her handler, Alexis Taylor-Hectorne, said Tory was "the absolute best girl" and that she "KILLED it .... the judge made her go around twice after the specials went around. he was really looking at her I was so proud of her." She is winning Best of Opposite Sex each day.
