Princess Buttercup's Shopping Adventure During the Covid Pandemic
(novice trick routine)
From our "Thrill on Blueberry Hill" litter, born July 13, 2018, Princess Buttercup has one of the softest, plushest coats you will ever feel. Taking after her father, Grand Champion Mianda's Prince Charming at Vanity, her beautiful face will take your breath away. She takes after her mama, Champion Peachtree's Kirkcudbright Kayleigh (KK) with her zest and love of people. In her temperament evaluation at 7 weeks of age, she crawled into the evaluator’s lap and made herself at home and that was a true indicator of her future indeed. Her show name breaks with the St. Louis theme and is taken from a wonderful poem by Emily Dickinson "Forever is Composed of Nows" by Emily Dickinson:
Forever – is composed of Nows
‘Tis not a different time
Except for Infiniteness
And Latitude of Home
From this – experienced Here
Remove the Dates – to These
Let Months dissolve in further Months
And Years – exhale in Years
Without Debate – or Pause
Or Celebrated Days
No different Our Years would be
From Anno Dominies

Fall of 2020 Buttercup was the best mama and produced such a gorgeous and healthy puppy boy (kennel name was Westley; new name = Gus).
Here's Princess Buttercup at one of her early shows in Florida where she won Best of Opposite Sex to Biggie.
Collector of ribbons! Buttercup was a natural at her scent work class. She was even better than her sister, Lilly! And she definitely looks the best in her tutus ;)
Buttercup wins Best of Breed in Vermont under judge Dana Cline. The next day, Lilly beat her with a BOB. Sisters like to share ;) Macintosh (CH Pickwick's Peachtree Hill Country Mighty Macintosh, TKN) came along on the trip to protect us. The best part of the trip was seeing Robert Frost's homes, a maple sugar farm, and visiting the Vermont Country Store!
Buttercup's early days, weeks, and months. Princess Buttercup as a Puppy!

Buttercup is "contestant #1" in this video (at 0:36)
Go Buttercup Go! At her very 1st show in Tallahassee, Florida, she went onto the Toy Group. Wahoo! Already collecting points toward her championship with just one show. She was not too concerned about her Toy Group after winning Best of Breed. And she made her dad proud with her performance! We are just smitten with this gorgeous girl. All 4 girls participated so here are some clips of some hi-lites:

Our schedules don't allow us to attend as many shows as we like, plus Buttercup only entered a handful of shows since we quickly realized we couldn't handle all 3 girls at the same time! Despite this, she made it further up the rankings of the The Pug Dog Club of America than we thought. The shows are simply too stressful for her and, while she loves spending time with us, she much prefers scent work and other sports, so we made the decision that her quality of life was more important than winning a championship. Nonetheless, we are very grateful to many judges who appreciated her beauty and encouraged her with some nice wins against tough competition, especially that Best of Opposite Sex win to Biggie, even beating out her sister, Lilly, several times!
