Thrill on Blueberry Hill Litter born 7-13-18
Our 2nd litter was a grand success with 3 healthy, gorgeous girls. Many thanks to Dr. Allen Borden, Dr. Nicki Williams, and all the staff at Galleria Animal Clinic for the successful delivery and care of our sweet KK during her pregnancy. And many thanks to Jennifer Hessell of Vanity Pugs for allowing us to use her amazing boy, GCH Mianda's Prince Charming at Vanity, and with all her help with the early stages of AI and guidance.

"Lilly", "Miss Dior", and "Princess Buttercup" are the 3 sisters from the Thrill Litter born 7-13-18 out of our own "Champion Peachtree's Kirkcudbright Kayleigh" and Vanity's "Grand Champion Mianda's Prince Charming at Vanity". Here they are at 10 weeks of age:
Miss Dior finished her AKC championship so quickly, as a puppy, usually winning Best of Opposite Sex to "Biggie" the famous pug who won more Best in Shows than any pug in history and who won the Toy Group at Westminster. She would bark at the judge when they weren't looking at her (sigh). She demanded to win!
Meanwhile, Lilly earned all of her points toward her championship and some pretty major wins at big shows (like Best of Breed, Best of Winners, Winners Bitch, Best of Breed Owner Handled in Atlanta against a huge lineup including specials) but she needed one more major win when the pandemic hit. Unlike Miss Dior, Lilly is a thoughtful pug and never liked the show scene.
It got to be where she was miserable and, when her tail went down at the final show, we decided not to make her continue. Early on in their show careers, in Raleigh NC, a giant black dog lunged and snapped at the girls who were about a year old at the time. They each reacted differently -- Miss Dior just barked at the big dog, but was still obviously frightened, yet Lilly and Buttercup never recovered from this encounter and they were subsequently wary of the show scene. Because they are all SUCH brilliant and loyal pugs, they all kept trying for us but gradually it became obvious to us that they truly were not happy showing and we didn't want to keep forcing them. They have one life to live and have become 2 of the best mothers in our breeding program producing gorgeous and healthy pugs. And they are incredible companion pugs. That is a question we discuss often ... should be breeding incredible and gorgeous companions (temperament is different than a show pug) or show pugs? Sometimes it's both, but quite often the showy ones are a bit more aloof as pets and more independent. Some might find that fun but it truly is 'breed standard' temperament wise.
Lilly is one of our star Painting Pugcassos . . .
Princess Buttercup had a brief career at showing and did very well in her few shows, winning Winners Bitch a couple of times and Best of Breed OH and placing in the Toy Group. Like Lilly, she never recovered from the "big black dog" experience so we decided not to make her suffer through something she didn't love.
We kept all 3 sisters because we couldn't decide who to keep! They were all marvelous. They are our "superstars" now in our Pugiano acts. Brilliant and striking like their mom and gorgeous and loving like their dad.
