(This is a memorial service created by the Reverend Frank Logue and tweaked by us, first compiled in memory of Gandalf, a week old pug puppy who died peacefully, and with a full belly -- but you can customize and use the following "generic" service (and watch video above) for any pet.) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, a gentle Father, and the God of all consolation, who comforts us in our sorrows, so that we can offer others, in their sorrows, the consolation that we ourselves received from God. Merciful and compassionate God, we come to you with Gandalf in grief and ask for the strength during this loss of your beautiful pug puppy. We offer our thanks for all you give us through our pets; and we bring you our prayers for peace of heart in the knowledge of your mercy and love, in Christ Jesus. Amen. God is with us; God's love unites us, God's purpose steadies us, God's Spirit comforts us. Blessed be God forever. Readings: "And if thy heart be straight with God, then every creature shall be to thee a mirror of life and book of doctrine, for there is no creature so little or so vile, but that sheweth and representeth the goodness of God." - Thomas a Kempis "The reason why God’s servants love his creatures so deeply, is that they realize how deeply Christ loves them. We thank you for Gandalf, and for the beauty he graced us with for his short time on earth. And we thank you for all the pets who share our homes and our lives. We ask for comfort in his loss, knowing that You grieve with us. For You care for all Your creation, as You care for us. May we live more peacefully because of today, and come at last, in the fellowship of all Your people, to the haven where we long to be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. May Christ, the good shepherd, enfold us with love, fill us with peace, and lead us in hope, this day and all our days. Amen. |
Prayer for a Dam's Pregnancy and Puppies:
Dear Lord, thank you for this day and for Your holy presence in our lives. Thank You for being in control and for the wonderful plan you have for us and each of our puppies’ lives. Heavenly Father, it is Your Spirit that gives life and peace. May my eyes never lose sight of Your love and power in my life.
Dear Jesus, I release any anger, bad feelings, resentment, or any other wrong attitude before you now. I lay it at Your feet and release and forgive those who have wronged me. Forgive me for all the times I have hurt others and I pray You would heal the wounds I have created. Bless all those whom I have met, and will meet on this earth.
Thank You for the blessing of all of our animals. Thank You for creating them and for their companionship. Heavenly Father, You made everything on earth. You made all that we see including our dogs. Lord You care about these animals and, as a result, we should too. The Bible in Proverbs 12:10 says that godly people care for the needs of their animals – Your beloved creatures. Give us wisdom, strength, love, and guidance to know how to care for the animals you have entrusted to our care
We ask for the perfect development of each puppy in each stage of development. May the brain and every organ and every part of each body grow normally and according to Your plan. May each little puppy have no defect or any health problems while in the womb and after birth. We ask for normal, healthy, and happy puppies.
Dear Lord, please protect the mother’s as well and keep them safe and healthy. Give us wisdom and grace to avoid the things that would prove detrimental to the development of each puppy. Send a hedge of angels, Lord, to surround and protect each puppy in the womb, that each little life may develop into the perfectly healthy new-born puppy.
Guide us in knowing what to do at each stage. Guide the doctors and all those who will help us in making the correct decisions regarding when and how to whelp, and how to care for each puppy. Guide us as we care for the newborn puppies and please make it abundantly clear, dear Lord, which families to choose for each puppy so they will continue to care for them so they may be a blessing in this world, bring joy and comfort, and a glimpse of Your kingdom while on this earth.
Please help me to trust You at every turn, as I understand Your ways are not what I can plan for. I pray for an attitude of grace to those around me, even when I am most tired. Thank you that I can find rest in Christ and come to him when I am weary. May I find any needed strength in You. Thank You for being in control, and for the wonderful plan You have for all of our lives.
I ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, to whom we give all thanks and praise.

Heavenly Father, we gather together and come into agreement in the wonderful and powerful name of Jesus. Where 2 or more are gathered, there You’ll be in the midst of us, and anything we agree upon as touching, You will surely do.
The Bible says that if there’s any unforgiveness that it should be dealt with before praying therefore we release any anger, bad feelings, resentment, or any other wrong attitude before you now. We lay it at Your feet and we release and forgive those who have wronged us.
Father, in Jesus name, there’s no distance in the Spirit, and we thank you for the listener who desires a prayer for their dog.
Father, we praise you for animals. Thank You for creating them and for their companionship. Thank you for the gift that they are to our lives and the life of the listener. Lord, Your Word says that you care about the animals, and as a result we should too. They are Your beloved creatures.
Father, You made everything on earth. You made all that we see including the dog or dogs the listener holds so dear to their heart.
Together, in agreement, we lift up the dog that’s on the listener’s heart. The Bible tells us God that a sign of a righteous man is that he takes care of his animals. Yes, they look after them and they love them. The Bible also says in Proverbs 12:10 that godly people care for the needs of their animals.
Father, thank you for the listener’s dog. In Jesus Name, we call them blessed. We declare that with a long and satisfying life, Father, they shall live in Jesus Name. Yes, we declare that they live a full life. Father, continue to remind the listener to think of You as their pet’s Creator and give praise and honor to You.
Praise You for your love of animals. In Psalm 147:9, You are concerned for all Your creation, including the animals You created. We exalt you for the dog or dogs that are in the listener’s care. How wonderful are they Lord. We magnify Your creative ability It’s amazing what You have created. We especially thank You for giving the listener their dog who is ultimately their friend and who brings them so much joy and happiness in life. No doubt the listener’s dog has made them laugh and has been a comfort to them, Father, through some good, some bad, and even some ugly times.
We thank You that comfort came from You through the dog.
In Jesus’ name, may their dog continue giving them joy and remind them of how awesome You are. Father, particularly, may the listener realize that as their dog trusts them to take care of them, so should they look to You to take care of them. In Jesus name we ask You for wisdom for the listener to learn and understand their dog better. We declare an increase in effective communication. Yes, Lord, may they become more and more aware of what they need and how to look after them, even better, in Jesus name.
Right now, Father, we lift up all dogs. Especially for those who may be suffering. For dogs who are over worked, underfed, and treated poorly. For dogs in captivity. For those who are improperly hunted in some countries and or lost. For dogs left behind, deserted, hungry, or scared, we lift them all up to You right now. In Jesus name, we declare deliverance to those dogs.
In Jesus name we speak healing and recovery over any and all sick dogs as well. We command sickness and disease to leave their bodies in Jesus name. Release Your healing power throughout their bodies now. We decree and declare that the truth rise to the surface, and those responsible for mistreating dogs be discovered and brought to justice in Jesus name.
Yes, Father, we speak confusion into the enemy’s camp and declare that someone somewhere catch the mistreatment of dogs. That someone somewhere, God, come across a dog in distress and rescue them.
We ask that even angels visit these dogs to supply and deliverance to these dogs too in Jesus name. Praise Your Holy name!
We lift up any and all people and organizations dedicated to caring for dogs. From veterinarians, Father, to rescue shelters. In Jesus name we call them blessed. In the name of Jesus, we plead the blood over them and call them protected. We call them liberally supplied with all that they need to operate successfully. Father we call in miracles in Jesus Name to bring the supply they need in order to attend to animals!
Lord, through Your power, we ask you to enable the listener’s dog to live according to Your plan. If the dog is dealing with any sickness or disease together, on the authority of Your Word, we bind that sickness and command it to stop and to leave their body now, in Jesus Name! You are no longer permitted to live, but like Jesus spoke to the fig tree, we speak to you sickness and disease and command you to leave the dog’s body now! We loose Your healing power throughout their body. We declare restoration over them from the top to the bottom, in Jesus Name! We bind well being and peace over their dog right now as well.
If the listener has experienced a passing of their dog, God, we bind peace and comfort around them right now. We speak Your peace over their heart. We call them strengthened to be able to keep going in life in Jesus Name!
