Challenges with newborn pug puppies

The first weeks of a newborn pug puppies are not like, say, a Golden Retriever. There are so many challenges in the beginning to keep them alive and healthy and a human needs to be present at all times while the mother is nursing to help a) wipe noses, b) suck milk out of noses, c) make sure pups are in a good position so that milk does not get into lungs, d) make sure tired mama pug doesn't accidentally sit or step on a puppy, e) use a nebulizer and suck milk out again at the conclusion of each feeding, f) use a toothbrush or hands to move fluid out of lungs to prevent aspiration pneumonia, g) set the alarm to a LOUD sound so that you can wake-up after a 30-60 minute nap and do it all over again. Some mamas are better at licking the pups, (like Lilly), so I didn't add a "h) wipe puppy to eliminate" but that is also often another item on the human's to-do-list with each feeding. Some days are better than others and sometimes you get some sessions where there is no milk .... other times it's a constant battle .... but it is an issue in the beginning with all pugs and other brachy breeds.
